The role

We're currently 3 FTEs and 1 contractor.

Backend

Our goal is to put intelligence into existing commerce infrastructure. That means working with various systems (ERPs, POS systems, messaging platforms, you name it) and connecting them all. We're getting more scale now and we need someone who can help us build solid infrastructure for that.

AI engineering

We use LLMs in our products to turn conversations into transactions at scale. That means developing new ways of testing and building with LLMs: evals, benchmarks, prompt engineering, context engineering.

How we work

We're pushing the boundaries of what's possible with LLMs, both on our product side and on our internal tooling. We're developing a way of working that's still very new, but that allows us to have unparalleled velocity compared to incumbents in our industry.

With VZ Labs we aim to build a new category of company, one where each team member has the force and autonomy to lead entire projects. In this new world where what used to take months to build can now take hours, these qualities become decisive: taste, agency, openness and contagiously high energy levels.

Requirements

Someone with a strong technical background who talks to LLMs a lot and is familiar with LLM native tooling. Curious and truth seeking. A few years at startups helps but isn't necessary.

Compensation

€60-85k + founding equity (0.75-1.5%). Both will be a function of your experience / how much you bench.
