The premise is simple. We believe commerce is not in its final form.
VZ Labs is small company with french/swiss roots, founded by two friends from ETH Zürich and EPFL.
Our mission is to uncover and craft the mechanics through which commerce will be conducted in a 5-10 year horizon, particularly exploring the adjacent possible unlocked by recent AI progress.
We've started working towards this goal by building châtaigne, a service that allows restaurants to sell their food fully automatically, through natural language, on WhatsApp.
Roles
The Work
We're now working on a further iteration of our vision, a new product that would allow any e-commerce store to sell their products through any communication channel via natural language.
The reason we want to build that is that the current e-commerce experience is inherently sterile. The internet allowed commerce to scale fast with great economics, but at the expense of a lot of what made shopping a delightful experience. This happened because there was no possibility of scaling the traditional way of selling (conversing with a salesperson). This isn't true anymore, LLMs brought conversations at scale.
We believe the current shopping experience has reached a local maxima, and the way out of it is to bring back the traditional way of buying: low cognitive load, zero learning curve, fast and personal.
